Martin Grenier: Martin was born in Québec, Canada, and moved to the United States in 1981. He has moved around a lot in the US since leaving Québec. However, Martin always considered his home to be where his heart was. Growing up, Martin felt a bit like a nomad without strong ties to any particular town or country. A former wildlife biologist for nearly 30 years, Martin decided to live a simple life of travel and embrace his wandering nature. His purpose is to live free of distractions by living in the moment while experiencing a life of travel.

Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the 3rd largest hot Spring in the world. The blue water is 188 F (87 C). New Fork Yankee Gold Dredge (Idaho, United States) | An Old Dinosaur - 14 Oct, 2023

The Yankee Fork Gold Dredge is a massive multi-story floating Dredge that operated for 12 years between 1940 and 1952 on the Yankee Fork River. The Dredge extracted > $1,000,000 in gold and > $14,000 in silver while operating. Today, our destination is the Yankee Fork Gold Dredge, east of Stanley, Idaho, by about 20 miles (32 km). The Sawtooth Mountains, west of Stanley, are an incredible and scenic mountain range. Several years back, I traveled south of Stanley to Ketchum, Idaho, and was in awe of the landscape then. As we head west, I ponder why I haven't spent more time recreating in this area of Idaho. Stanley is a tiny town near the foothills of the Sawtooth. Only about 116 people live in Stanley year-round. The winters are harsh, and many roads in and out of Stanley are often closed in the winter due to snow. We arrive in Stanley in the early afternoon and find a burger bar for lunch. West Tensleep Lake Trailhead (Wyoming, United States) | - 22 Oct, 2023

This view of Mistymoon Lake with Bomber Mountain in the background is one of my favorites for the trip. I especially love how the granite mountains have a pink hue as the sun sets. Today's hike returns us to West Tensleep Lake Trailhead. The hike begins at 10,334 (3,150 m) and ends at 9,100 ft (2,774 m). The gradual decline is only 6.5 mi (10.5 km). I unzip the tent, step out, and am surprised to see the heavy clouds today. When I called it a night, there wasn't a single cloud in the sky. This is perfect weather for walking! I can feel this morning that my face is warm from the likely sunburn I got yesterday from being in the sun for so long. As I wait for Aidan and Daniel to climb out, I admire the dramatic sky and beautiful view. I start packing up my things and breaking down camp with my nephews.
